Roslyn, Wash.

March 12, 2013 – Suncadia, a year-round mountain resort community located 80 miles east of Seattle, is excited to announce that its Tumble Creek Club will be a sectional qualifying site for the U.S. Open Championship. The United States Golf Association selected Tumble Creek Club to be one of 13 sites to host the U.S. Open sectional qualifiers on Monday, June 3, 2013.

"It is such an honor to have Tumble Creek selected as a sectional qualifying site for the U.S. Open Championship," said Jared Jeffries, Tumble Creek Club manager. "We’re extremely proud of all three courses at Suncadia and we’re excited to introduce the exceptional golf we have to offer on a national level."

The sectional qualifying, conducted over 36 holes, will be held at 11 sites in the United States, including Tumble Creek Club, on June 3

Japan and England will host the international qualifying on May 27th. The U.S. Open Championship will take place at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., June 13th to 16th

Tumble Creek Club has an established tradition of hosting the U.S. Open local qualifying and is a U.S. Open sectional site for the second time; previously hosting the sectional in 2009. The other ten sectional qualifying sites are: Big Canyon Country Club & Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif.; Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla.; Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga.; Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.; Old Warson Country Club in St. Louis, Mo.; Old Oaks Country Club & Century Country Club in Purchase, N.Y.; Brookside Golf & Country Club & The Lakes Golf & Country Club in Columbus, Ohio; Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio; Colonial Country Club in Memphis, Tenn.; and Lakewood Country Club, Dallas, Texas.

Tumble Creek Club, Suncadia’s private club, features a stunning layout modeled after classic parkland style golf clubs with natural-edge bunkers, bent grass fairways and undulating greens. The course, opened in 2005, was crafted by Tom Doak, acclaimed for his work on Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Ore. The par-71 layout blends naturally into a plateau above the Cle Elum River Valley and stretches 7,122 yards from the championship tees. In 2007,

Golf Digest

recognized Tumble Creek in its "America’s Best New Courses" rankings, placing the course #7 in the Best New Private Course category.

Suncadia also features two public courses. Named one of the "Best New Public Courses" by

Golf Digest magazine and selected as one of the Top 50 new courses by Golf Week Magazine in 2007, Prospector is 18 holes of exquisite mountain golf. Created by the Palmer Course Design Company, the course is playable for all skill levels and presents challenges for the more experienced golfer. Opened in August 2011, Rope Rider, which was named 2011 Best New Course of the Year by Golf Magazine,

is the newest course at Suncadia and compliments Prospector and the property’s private club course Tumble Creek. Rope Rider’s par-72 course is a Jacobsen-Hardy Golf Course Design and boasts more than 7,300 yards from the back tees and accommodates family golf with youth tees on every hole and shorter three and six-hole loops.

Suncadia’s golf courses headline a variety of luxury amenities at the resort including Portals Restaurant, the Swim & Fitness Center and the Glade Spring Spa. Suncadia is the only resort of its kind to feature championship golf, mountain overlooks and a winery within its boundaries, Swiftwater Cellars, which crushes grapes on-site and offers premium Swiftwater Cellars’ wines and Pacific Northwest cuisine.
