All- Season Resort Continues to be at the Forefront of the Second Home Market in the Pacific Northwest
Since properties became available in 2003, Suncadia has seen real estate sales through its brokerage, Suncadia Real Estate Sales Company, continue to climb. More than 1,420 homesites, custom homes and condominiums have been purchased, with 155 of those sales taking place in 2013.
“Based on recent real estate trends in our market and the momentum of our economy, Suncadia is excited about this past year’s success and optimistic about continuing our trend of increased growth into 2014,” said Richard Seay, vice president, director of sales and marketing for Suncadia.
Construction of 57 new homes began in 2013, compared to the 36 starts in 2012. Prospector’s Reach, a neighborhood of cottages just a stone’s throw from the core of Suncadia, saw the new construction of 14 homes by award winning builders, Bella Villa Resort Homes, Element Residential LLC, and Craig Reimer Custom Homes. Surrounded by 6,400 alpine-edge acres of Suncadia’s finest recreational and leisure activities, Steve Burnstead Construction LLC.’s neighborhood, Black Nugget, saw 12 home sales in 2013. Burnstead is in their third and final phase of construction for the Black Nugget neighborhood, which will consist of 37 homes when completed.
A Featured Builder Program was introduced in late 2013, enabling buyers to move into their dream home in a fraction of the time. Builders work with Suncadia to identify key high-end features, such as outdoor living areas with firepits, bunk rooms, gourmet kitchens and detailed wood working, leaving only a few finishing touches for the buyer to have to decide upon. The first spec home was sold shortly after the program began by Featured Builder Woodridge Custom Homes.

Additions were made in 2013 to provide homeowners and guests increased access to the Cle Elm River. The “1,000 Steps, Lodge to River Staircase” connects The Lodge at Suncadia to the Cle Elm River, providing homeowners and resort guests with convenient access to river activities and a scenic trail. The Nelson Creek Fish Shed, located at the end of one of Suncadia’s many trails, celebrates the fish that are a vital part of the Cle Elum’s ecosystem and provides owners an opportunity to relax while wandering the waters of the Cle Elum.
Tumble Creek Club features numerous family-friendly outdoor activities such as the luxurious Sasse Mt. Outpost encampment of canvas tents, bocce ball courts, and a fire pit at the Tumble Creek Golf House, perfect for evening gatherings.
Seasonal events continue to be a success at Suncadia. More than 5,000 guests attended the 8th Annual Harvest Festival, sponsored by the Suncadia Fund for Community Enhancement & Suncadia. For the first time ever, Suncadia’s Rope Tow Inner Tubing Hill opened before Thanksgiving weekend due to the addition of a snow making machine.
