Golf Season Officially Underway at Suncadia with Opening of Rope Rider Golf Course

Suncadia’s second public course, Prospector golf course, scheduled to open May 17th

Roslyn, Wash. – (April 12, 2013) – Suncadia, a year-round mountain resort community located 80 miles east of Seattle, is excited to announce that golf season is officially underway with the seasonal opening of Rope Rider golf course on Friday, April 12th. Prospector golf course is scheduled to open on Friday, May 17th, allowing golfers to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for a championship golf experience on two award-winning courses.

“The weather is heating up and the greens and fairways are in excellent condition,” said Brady Hatfield, director of golf operations for Suncadia.  “Suncadia offers a great location for a day trip from the Seattle area and exceptional accommodations make it possible to extend a trip into a golf vacation.”

Opened in August 2011, Rope Rider, which was named 2011 Best New Course of the Year by Golf Magazine, is the newest course at Suncadia and complements Prospector and the property’s private club course Tumble Creek. Rope Rider’s par-72 course is a JacobsenHardy Golf Course Design and boasts more than 7,300 yards from the back tees and accommodates family golf with youth tees on every hole and shorter three and six-hole loops. Selected by the United States Golf Association, Rope Rider will be a Senior Open qualifying site in June.

Named one of the "Best New Public Courses" by Golf Digest magazine and selected as one of the Top 50 new courses by Golf Week Magazine in 2007, Prospector is 18 holes of exquisite mountain golf. Created by the Palmer Course Design Company and spanning 7,100 yards, Prospector offers well-bunkered fairways and numerous water features to present plenty of risk/reward opportunities while being playable for all skill-levels.

From April 14 to October 3, 2013 Suncadia is offering its Unlimited Golf Package which invites guests to unwind at Suncadia with the property’s exceptional amenities, polish their swing at Prospector Driving Range and enjoy multiple rounds of golf on the Rope Rider and Prospector golf courses. The package included Deluxe overnight accommodations in select rooms in The Lodge at Suncadia or Trailhead Condominiums, unlimited golf and advance tee times for each paying adult on Prospector and Rope Rider golf courses, unlimited use of Prospector Driving Range and Rope Rider Golf Park and courtesy intra-resort shuttle to both courses. Rates for the Unlimited Golf Package start at $119 per person per night and are available Sunday through Thursday nights with golf play Sundays through Fridays.

To round out the golf experience, Suncadia also offers Rope Ride Golf Park, which offers a short game practice area and a three-hole short course. From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., golfers can use the Golf Park for free to brush up on their short game. After 3 p.m., the park is used as a three-hole short course and is also available for private and group events.

Suncadia’s two public golf courses are accompanied by the resort’s private club, Tumble Creek, which will host a U.S. Open Championship sectional qualifier in June. The golf courses headline a variety of luxury amenities at the resort including Portals Restaurant, the Swim & Fitness Center and the Glade Spring Spa. Suncadia is the only resort of its kind to feature championship golf, mountain overlooks and a winery within its boundaries, Swiftwater Cellars, which crushes grapes on-site and offers premium Swiftwater Cellars’ wines and Pacific Northwest cuisine.
