Tumble Creek Golf Course

TC Club

Tom Doak is recognized as one of the finest living golf course designers in the world. Golf Digest ranked three of his courses (Pacific Dunes at Brandon Dunes, Cape Kidnappers, and Barnbougle) among the top 50 in the world in 2005. As well, The Tumble Creek Golf Course was named one of the top private courses in America by Golf Digest.

With Tumble Creek, Tom Doak has captured the spirit of its rolling hills that flow through pine forests, along river bluffs, and across expansive meadows ringed by soaring peaks. Known as a minimalist designer, Doak "found" the course in the land and moved as little earth as possible creating this extraordinary Washington State golf course. The realization of Doak's artistry and vision have created a legacy for Tumble Creek Club members for generations to come.

Tumble Creek Club is a private, members-only golf course.  For more information about becoming a member of Tumble Creek Club, please contact Jared Jeffries, Club Manager, at 509-649-6481.

The drive is down a wooded valley, followed by a pitch up to a shelf of green hanging out over a steep drop to the left.

Slightly downhill shot to a smallish green tucked back up against a steep hillside. A small knob at the front right of the green will make up-and-downs difficult.

The fairway runs along a shelf lined with bunkers on the inside right; if you play the drive too safely the green will be sloping away from the front left bunker you must carry with your pitch.

A classic dogleg left from a high tee along the edge of a bluff. A tee shot short and left is gone into the woods, but a tee shot which is too long and safe will have to contend with a tree on the right short of the green.

Long hitters may want to rip a drive over the ravine straight toward the green to shorten the hole, but most players will be better off driving to the high ground on the right and settling for a longer approach.

A gently climbing par 5 with bunkers to the right off the tee and then to the left on the approach, all of which will put thoughts of an easy birdie to rest.

My favorite driving hole on the course: a long tee shot up the left hand side will kick down off a high shoulder for extra yardage.

. An important tee shot to get in the fairway, so you can attack the downhill second shot.

A bruising par five from another elevated tee; you'll have to contend with a stream crossing and a pond on the second shot if you want a reasonable pitch to the small green.

A par five which forces a decision on the tee; the safe play to the left makes it a three-shot hole, but to get home in two you have to lace a drive over a small pond to a narrow alternate fairway between water left and woods right.
