Winter Activities


We have several miles of groomed trails waiting for you to enjoy in at Suncadia.
Trails are groomed regularly for cross country skiing and maps are available. Bring your own skis or rent them from The Inn every day from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Limited amount of children's skis are available.

Snowshoe rental: $12/2-hr & $20/24-hr.

Snowshoes are also available for rent, and a great way to tour Suncadia. Grab your family, and crunch around our beautiful property! You can also do a guided snowshoe hike with a member of Suncadia's Recreation team. Cost is 30$/person for a guided snowshoe hike on our beautiful groomed trails. Water and a snack are provided.

Ski rental: $15/2-hr & $25/24-hr.

Experience the pristine winter beauty and backcountry scenery on a guided snowmobile adventure. Snowmobiling is suitable and fun for the entire family and ability levels. Enjoy a 2 hour guided tour. Light refreshments, coffee, & bottled water. Minimum age to ride single is 16 years old.

Full face helmet, and gloves included. Dress for a day in the snow, including water resistant/water proof coat, pants. Snowmobile suits & boots available at additional cost.

2 hour tour per person: $180.00
2nd passenger: $50 extra (2-seater snowmobile)
Shuttle: $15 per person, under 15 rides free. (To and from trail head)
Optional Damage Waiver: $20 per machine.
Snowsuits & boots: $15 per person

    During your winter visit please take advantage of our ice skating located at the Village Pavilion. We have morning, afternoon and evening sessions complete with skate rental. Warm yourself by the firepit while sipping hot chocolate or making s'mores to round out your winter memories.

    Waiver required for all participation.

    Experience the thrill of the hill on an inner tube with a rope tow return. Enjoy a hot chocolate while planning your next downhill strategy. Inner tubes are included with lift ticket purchase (no private sleds allowed). Waiver required for participation. Children must be 42" tall; the minimum age for a child to go tubing is 3 years old. Adults and child must ride tube alone for safety reasons. No pets allowed on the hill.

    Located off Rope Rider Road next to Swiftwater Winery (Shuttles available to take you to the hill from The Lodge).

    Snowshoe Winter Wonderland BBQ

    Take the Snowshoe Trekking to the next level with the Winter Wonderland BBQ Lunch option. Snowshoe trek through the woods to our Winter Wonderland Fish Shack overlooking the Cle Elum River. We'll be grilling steaks, chicken and have a variety of other great items along with beverages for you. Our Fish Shack has heat and is comfortable for small to medium size groups. Consider moonlight snowshoeing and have dinner. The cost is $120 for adults and $95 for children 12 years or younger. Contact the concierge or front desk of the lodge to schedule.

    Winter Walk and Wade Guided Fly Fishing

    Fly fish the local trout streams on foot with one of our expert guides. The fishing in the winter on the Yakima River can be outstanding. The two to three hour excursion departs from the Suncadia Lodge and includes all fly fishing gear, supplies, waders and boots. Warm beverages and snack are provided during the trip. If conditions are right, snowshoeing to a remote part of the river can be lots of fun on this trip. A fishing license is necessary and can be provided. Up to three anglers per guide at $85 per hour with a two hour minimum. A great way to learn the sport. Please contact the concierge or front desk of the lodge to arrange a Winter Walk and Wade Fly Fishing trip. Trips are available daily at any time.

    Winter Guided Fly Fishing Drift Trips

    The best way to experience some great winter fly fishing on the Yakima River is floating in a drift boat. The winter fly fishing can be outstanding with low river flows and crystal clear water. The trout are typically interested in many of the small aquatic insects that are active throughout the winter months. Take advantage of the special time winter is for fly fishing the Yakima River.

    Trips last about four to six hours and include transportation from the Suncadia Lodge, all fly fishing equipment, supplies, waders and boots. Warm beverages and snacks are also available. A fishing license is necessary and can be provided. Fly fishing experience is not necessary and beginners are welcome. Special winter rate of $375 plus tax for one or two anglers.     Snowmobile Tours

    Get away from the crowds on a Washington vacation and create your own back country adventure. Snowmobiling is an awesome winter sport that is the number one activity after skiing.

    Horseback Riding with Horse2Human

    Exclusive PRIVATE group rides. Each individual party can arrange their own private horseback excursion... Our trail rides and instruction offer a relaxing and rewarding experience for all who are interested in sharing some time with horses.

    This ride can be tailored to meet your requests for those of you who have more advanced riding skills. If you are away from home, and miss your regular riding opportunities...we can fix that!

    Our 100' x 170' indoor insulated arena provides year round educational experience. Children must be at least 8 yrs old to participate in the Trail Rides, and these lessons can still offer a rewarding experience for the younger horse enthusiast in your group.

    Group Horse-Drawn Activities

    Hear the soothing clip clop of the hooves as you ride through Suncadia in a horse drawn carriage/sleigh. Pulled by our gentel Percheron giants-Tip & Lucky-enjoy family and friends with a relaxing ride with Three Peaks Outfitters.

    Take a step back in time with our rustic covered wagon. This handmade wooden wagon has two bench seats which face each other so guests can enjoy each other's company.  

    Far from rustic, this stunning black and burgundy classic wagonette has wooden wheels and a fringe lined top. Padded seats and back rests add comfort as you ride in style.  

    Flashy yet intimate our vis-à-vis carriage is perfect for weddings and small gatherings. Whether you ride with the top up or down, sit side by side or facing each other this elegant carriage will add a special touch to any occasion.

    Guided Cross Country Ski Tours

    Explore the trails outside of Suncadia and bask in the pristine winter scenery with a Guided Cross Country Ski Tour. Our custom tours are 3 hours in length and are great for all skill levels. We will provide you with all the necessary equipment and water.

    Introduction to Cross Country Skiing

    New to cross country skiing and want some help starting out? This class will give you the basic skills necessary to comfortably ski on flat or slightly hilly terrain.
